We have exciting news to share! Quest is now offering Fanuc’s CRX-25iA collaborative robot, or “Cobots” as part of our standard Box Bot palletizing offering.
This cobot brings several newfound advantages to you, including a 25kg payload (about 55 lbs.) and a 1,889mm reach (over six foot) – all while operating within a small footprint and without the traditional safety guarding.
Cobots are designed to work in line with operators. They work at a more manageable speed and have sensors that program the machine to stop when a person makes contact with them, or a hazard is detected to ensure safety to the workforce.
While cobots are nothing new in the industry, the traditional light payload capabilities with slow speeds have limited their use in practical applications. However, this new 25kg cobot is now a practical solution for more than 75% of our targeted applications – and that is a good thing for you.
Cobots work well in many industries, especially food. Many food manufactures have limited space for new automation and their operations are very labor intensive. Cobots can tackle both these common challenges by taking up a smaller footprint and working safely hand-in-hand with operators.
Fanuc’s 25kg cobot joins four other models in its CRX line, with payload capacities between 5kg and 25kg. We are integrating these new models into our standard Box Bot platform. By analyzing your box dimensions, weights and expected production rates, we can specify the right robotic palletizing cell for your application.
The addition of the 25kg CRX cobot is going to be a real game changer for palletizing equipment. I’m excited to see how we can integrate it into your next end-of-line packaging project!
